About Us
Welcome to Parrys Lane Dental Practice
Located in the heart of Stoke Bishop, Parrys Lane Dental Practice has been providing high-quality dental care to Bristol and the surrounding areas for over 85 years. We are a family-focused practice dedicated to supporting your long-term oral health.
We offer a full range of dental services, including private treatments and our in-house Practice Dental Plan designed to make dental care more accessible. If you require specialist treatments, we can refer you to our trusted sister clinic, the Specialist Dental & Implant Centre.
Our experienced team of dentists, hygienists, nurses, and reception staff are friendly, approachable, and committed to putting your needs first. We take the time to understand your individual concerns and goals, tailoring your treatment plan to suit you. Before starting any treatment, we’ll provide a detailed breakdown of costs and, if needed, discuss flexible finance options to help spread the expense.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re actively working to reduce our carbon footprint. When visiting us for the first time, you’ll be asked to complete a short medical history form using our electronic touchpad. If you need any assistance, our reception team is happy to help. This form helps us get to know you better and ensures we can deliver safe, personalised care—so please don’t hesitate to share anything that might affect your treatment.
New Patients
Appointments
We warmly welcome new patients to Parrys Lane Dental Practice on a private basis. Registering is easy—simply give us a call or visit the practice in person if you’re nearby.
First Visit
Your first appointment will be a New Patient Consultation with one of our experienced dentists. During this visit, we’ll take a comprehensive medical and dental history and discuss any concerns or goals you may have.
A full oral examination will be carried out, including:
- Oral cancer screening
- Routine x-rays
- Assessment of your overall dental health
This thorough approach allows us to tailor a personalised treatment plan and provide oral hygiene advice suited to your needs. If any further treatment is recommended, we will provide a clear plan outlining all associated costs before moving forward.
Accessibility
We aim to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for all patients.
Wheelchair access is available; however, there is a small step at the front entrance. If you require assistance, please use the buzzer and a member of our team will be happy to help.
Ground floor surgeries are available, and our team is trained to support patients with additional needs. A hearing loop is available, and longer appointments can be arranged if required.
If you have any specific access or communication needs, please let us know when booking so we can support you.
Domiciliary Visits
If you’re unable to attend the practice in person, we can refer you to our sister practice, Linden Lodge Dental Care, which offers a domiciliary service and can provide care in the comfort of your own home. Please contact us for more details.
Dental Emergency?
Accidents happen—and when they do, it’s important to act fast. If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, please contact us as soon as possible so we can provide prompt care and relief. We reserve daily emergency appointments for our registered patients. Where availability allows, we’re also happy to accommodate unregistered patients who need urgent care.
If the practice is closed, we are a host clinic for 24/7 Dentist, an out-of-hours emergency dental service. To book an appointment outside of our regular hours, please contact 24/7 Dentist directly on 0330 175 9995.
For more information on what to do in specific emergency situations, please see our emergency guidance below.
Toothache?
Tooth pain is often a sign that something isn’t right. If you’re in discomfort, speak with your dentist or doctor about suitable pain relief (analgesics). Persistent or severe toothache should never be ignored—please get in touch so we can investigate the cause and treat the issue.
Lost a crown?
If a crown falls out, keep it safe—we may be able to re-cement it. In the meantime, avoid chewing on that side of your mouth and stick to lukewarm drinks to reduce sensitivity.
Knocked out tooth?
If a permanent (adult) tooth has been knocked out, act quickly—the first hour is crucial for saving the tooth.
If the tooth is clean and the person is alert:
- Gently hold the tooth by the crown (the white part), avoiding the root.
- If needed, rinse it briefly with cold milk or saline—do not scrub or use soap.
- Carefully place the tooth back into the socket, then bite down on a soft cloth or hold it in place with clean foil.
If reinsertion isn’t possible:
- Store the tooth in a container of cold milk, or
- Place it between the cheek and gums—but only if the person is old enough not to swallow it.
- Do not use water and avoid handling the root.
Important:
- Do not try to reinsert a baby (milk) tooth—this can damage the developing adult tooth underneath.
- Seek emergency dental care immediately—ideally within 30 to 60 minutes of the injury.
